First Gear Driving is run by Martin Weager, a local, friendly, driving instructor. Covering Stroud and the surrounding areas, Martin adapts his driving lessons around your requirements.

Martin is a DSA Driving Instructor with over 30 years experience in driving. Holding both car and PCV licences enables Martin to experience a variety of driving conditions around the UK and Europe. When not on the road teaching students to drive he can be found taking coach excursions to European Destinations including; Paris, Brussels, Berlin. As well as more challenging destinations such as high peak ski resorts.

Lessons

Each lesson is around 1 hour long at only £45 per hour. We choose a suitable time with you to fit around any pre-existing commitments such as School/College or Work. We try and get everyone at least one lesson a week. If you want more, then we will try and find a time that is suitable for you. (Please note: During school terms, it may be more difficult to get your first choice of time, however we will try our best).

We cover everyone in the Stroud Valleys. This includes; Nailsworth, Stroud, Minchinhampton, Avening, Painswick, Bussage, Brimscombe.

What happens on my first lesson?New student

On your first lesson I arrange to pick you up at an arranged location, and time, where you will fill out the relevant paperwork. After getting to know each other and finding out how much you know already, you will have a go at driving. If you have not driven before, which most people haven't, there is no need to worry. We will drive to a quiet road where you can get to grips with the basics.Martin Weager
